Don Koonce : Play by Play
A former Major League Baseball scout and 17 year broadcast veteran, will handle the play-by-play duties for UNCP football games. Koonce was one of the co-founders of Mid-South Sports, Inc., in 1990 where he hosted a weekly coach's show before each game. A regular on the sideline in 12 years with the company, Koonce was part of a radio crew that broadcasted six 4-A State Championship games and eight 4-A East Regional Championship games. He also has experience with broadcasting Methodist and Wingate University football games.
Trey Edge : Color
A former football letterwinner(1989) at UNC-Chapel Hill, will handle the color commentary duties. Edge played at Terry Sanford High School where he led his squad to the state championship as a senior.
Junior Edge : Sidelines
Edge, a 1963 All-ACC and academic All-America selection, helped lead the North Carolina Tar Heels to their first-ever bowl victory in 1963 - a 35-0 rout of Air Force in the Gator Bowl. A three year football letterwinner in Chapel Hill, Junior was drafted by the Green Bay Packers where he played professional football for several years.
